Although Magento supports importing key objects, it offers insufficient performance for integration scenarios. Therefore, DELABYTE uses the open-source framework Pacemaker. Pacemaker is an open-source import framework for Magento. It is primarily developed by the Magento agency Techdivision, which also offers more extensive packages of the middleware platform for Magento based on a free version.

Magento’s standard import is mainly suitable for bringing data into Magento once. Pacemaker, on the other hand, offers significantly better performance and is therefore well-suited for regular data synchronization with surrounding systems.

Pacemaker and the Magento 2 Import Framework (M2IF)

While Magento’s import function is essentially designed for the one-time import of inventory, product data, as well as customer data and addresses, Pacemaker enables a regular, high-performance import of data from external systems. Additionally, it allows the import of attributes, categories, and tier prices. The open-source framework utilizes the specially developed Magento 2 Import Framework (M2IF). It accepts CSV files in the same format as the standard import function but reads the data at a much higher speed. By using Pacemaker, online shop operators benefit from a more efficient integration of their existing systems with Magento.
